Convulsions known as febrile seizures can occur in young children whose fever is higher than 100.4°F (38°C). Febrile refers to "feverish." Usually, the seizures end on their own after a few minutes. The fever could linger for a while. Most febrile seizures are self-limiting and do not result in further medical issues. After a seizure, some children may experience sleepiness, while others experience no aftereffects. Children aged six months to five experience febrile seizures.
